A photographer stepped on the world's most poisonous fish, and despite knowing he could die within an hour made a TikTok video.
Adam Clancy treated the intense pain from the stonefish poison by drinking wine and whisky after refusing painkillers.
The 31-year-old, from NSW, Australia, survived the ordeal and months later pulled out a 2cm barb that had been lodged in his foot from the attack.
He was wading off Queensland's Moreton Island at night on April 22 with his camera in hand when he trod on the incognito fish.
Adam quickly grabbed a photo as it swam away and asked his friend to keep taking snaps.
Venomous stonefish deliver their poison using 13 bristling barbs and can induce fatal paralysis, breathing difficulties and heart failure in humans.
A course of anti-venom is recommended for anyone impaled by one.

Another friend got a bucket of hot water for Adam's foot as they waited for paramedics to arrive back on shore.
He has since admitted he's not sure why he refused painkillers from the medics as his pain was excruciating.
'Yeah, [painkillers] probably would've been the better option but two glasses of whisky and a bottle of Shiraz helped me sleep that night,' he told Daily Mail Australia.
Adam was also advised to go to hospital on the mainland the next day but instead stayed on the island and went back to work.
He posted a TikTok video with a glass of wine in hand, saying he had just trod on the "world's most venomous fish".

"So, the paramedic just told me that most people go into shock and pass out from the intense pain," he continues.
"So, apparently I'm the most chilled-out guy in agonising pain ever."
He captioned the video: "POV you could die within 1 hour but you know that pain is temporary and worrying doesn't help."
The post has gained over nine million views.
He said in the clip the pain was "pretty f******* agonising" but his philosophy is pain eventually goes away.
"It's gonna go away. It's there for now. It's gonna be a couple hours maybe a couple days."
However, the pain remained but Adam said he's a "stubborn Aussie bloke" and didn't see a doctor.
He told the Mail: "Months later I was still having trouble walking properly on that foot and that's when I got serious about seeing if anything remained in my foot."
He eventually used a razor to cut out a transparent barb, resembling clear plastic.
In another TikTok video on July 14 he explained how the night before he made a "little incision" that didn't help initially.
"But today in the shower I just really squeezed it, really just f***ing squeezed my foot ... and this f***ing thing popped out. Look at the f***er," he said.
Adam has since said his foot is finally on the mend.
