On March 29, outside a home in Sacramento County, California, a peculiar incident unfolded as a person disguised as a garbage bag stole a package left at the front door. The homeowner, Omar Gabriel Munoz, captured the bizarre act on his door camera footage.
The footage shows an individual concealed under a garbage bag approaching the front door and swiftly taking a parcel. Only the person's feet, clad in white sandals, are visible in the video. The stolen package contained two iPhone chargers from online retailer Temu, valued at approximately $10, according to Munoz.
Despite the initial anger at the theft, Munoz found humor in the situation upon reviewing the video. He remarked on the creativity displayed by the thief, stating, 'At first I was kinda angry but when I saw the video again I was laughing because people [these] days have a lot of creativity.'
Munoz, who had recently relocated to Sacramento from San Jose, had experienced a package theft in the past. In response to the latest incident, he chose not to involve law enforcement, believing they had more pressing matters to attend to. Instead, he reordered the iPhone chargers from Temu.
Upon receiving a delivery notification, Munoz was puzzled when he couldn't locate the package upon returning home. Initially attributing the missing parcel to the wind, he later discovered the truth after reviewing the door camera footage.
The Sacramento police indicated that the crime fell under the jurisdiction of the sheriff's office. However, the sheriff's office did not provide an immediate response to inquiries regarding the incident.
