Police in Dundee have launched a major probe after a man was found seriously injured in Stobswell.
The 37-year-old victim was discovered in a close in Balmore Street at 9.30am today.
He had suffered serious facial and head injuries and was rushed to Ninewells Hospital.
His condition there has been described as ‘serious but stable’.
Detective Sergeant Craig Kelly, said: “We are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and how this man has came about his injuries.
“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed anything significant, or who has information that may help us, to please get in touch.”
The officer also issued a description of a person of interest for their investigation.
He added: “Our early enquiries have established that there was a man seen in Balmore Street who may have information that will assist us and we are keen to trace him as soon as possible.
“He is described as around 5ft 10ins in height and of slim build. He was wearing khaki trousers, a black top and a red baseball cap. I’d urge him to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone driving in the area this morning with dash-cam footage, or anyone with personal footage to contact us.
“Anyone with any information that could assist should contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 0821 of 3 June.”
