A man has died after taking unwell at Glasgow Queen Street station despite the best efforts of staff to save him.
The man, who was in his 60s, collapsed at the ticket office of the train station on Monday.
An off-duty nurse and paramedic along with station staff raced to save the man and performed CPR at 10.34pm but he was pronounced dead shortly after.
The man's family have since taken to social media to thank those who tried to help.
A post read: "An off duty nurse and off duty paramedic try to resuscitate him. They stayed with him until an ambulance arrived and left before anyone could ask their names.
"Sadly my brother passed away. If anyone knows who tried to help him we would love to contact them to thank them.
"My family and I will be eternally grateful for the help they gave."
A later post added: "We want to thank Maggie Hoey who is the manager of the ticket office in Queen Street.
"She has informed us that five members of staff and two managers performed CPR on my brother.
"She has assured us that he didn't suffer and wasn't alone at the end. This has given my parents a great deal of comfort.
"We can't thank enough for all they did."
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Glasgow Queen Street station at 10.34pm on Monday 2 May following reports of a medical emergency.
"Paramedics also attended and sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
