A man had died in a horror crash involving two vehicles that closed down the A1 for almost 12 hours.
The tragic collision involving a lorry and truck happened in the early hours of Thursday, January 19, just north of Eyemouth in the Borders.
Emergency services were at the scene from 3.50am investigating the crash and those planning to travel south from Edinburgh and East Lothian were warned to consider another route. The road did not reopen until Thursday afternoon at 2.15pm.

Police have now confirmed a 50-year-old man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick said: “We received a report of a crash involving a truck and a lorry on the A1 north of Eyemouth, around 3.30am on Thursday, 19 January, 2023.
“Emergency services attended and a 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“There were no reports of any other injuries.
“Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0282 of 19 January, 2023.”
