Man dies in Christmas Day crash between car and motorcycle

A MAN has died following a crash between a car and a motorcycle near Stirling on Christmas Day.

Emergency services were called to the report of a car crash at around 2pm on Wednesday on the A811 between Kings Knot roundabout and Kippen Station roundabout near Leckie.

Officers attended the scene where a red Audi A7 and a grey Moto Guzzi V100 motorcycle collided.

Emergency services attended the rider of the motorbike, a 60-year-old man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the man's next of kin are aware.

The driver of the Audi, a 72-year-old man, was taken to Forth Valley Hospital to be checked for minor injuries.

Police closed the road for around 10 hours while investigations were carried out.

Enquiries into the crash are still ongoing.

Police officers have said they are particularly keen to trace and speak to the driver of a white Dacia Duster which was seen in the area at the time of the collision.

Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time. We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.

“I am now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in this area around that time and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist us to contact us.”

Anyone with information can call Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 1209 of 25 December, 2024.
