A young man has died after a car 'failed to stop for police' then smashed into three other vehicles.
The horror crash happened on Wellington Road North in Stockport just after 1am this morning.
Police said a Fiat Punto had 'failed to stop' for officers.
It then collided with a BMW and two unoccupied parked cars near to the junction of Crossley Road on the A6.
A man - who is believed to be aged in his 20's - sadly died at the scene.
Two other men, who were in the BMW and both aged in their 20's, were treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries.
GMP has referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), a spokesperson for the force said.
Wellington Road remains closed off in both directions this morning between Broom Lane and Manchester Road.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
Inspector Daniel Byrne, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "Sadly a man has lost his life as a result of this collision. Our thoughts remain with his family.
"Road closures are currently in place on the A6 whilst enquiries remain ongoing.
"It is advised that commuters avoid the area where possible and instead use alternative routes. We thank the public for their patience as we deal with this incident."
