Man dies following crash involving three cars and bus

A 58-YEAR-OLD man has died following a crash involving three cars and a bus in North Lanarkshire.

Officers were called to a report of a car that collided with the bus and two other cars on Stirling Street in Airdrie town centre at around 3.25pm on Friday.

The 58-year-old driver of the car that collided with the three vehicles was taken to hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police Scotland said his family have been made aware and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Nobody else was injured and the road was later reopened.

Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward with information.

Sergeant Nick Twigg, from Police Scotland’s road policing unit, said: “We are appealing for any potential witnesses who are still to speak to officers to please get in touch.

“We would also urge anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage to pass this on to us by call 101 and quoting incident number 2154 of Friday 11 October 2024.”
