Man dies at Newcastle Airport following 'medical emergency'

A man has tragically died following a 'medical emergency' inside Newcastle International Airport.

At around 8am on Saturday, Northumbria Police confirmed that they received a report of a 'medical emergency' inside Newcastle International Airport.

Emergency services attended but it was later confirmed that the man, who has not been named, had sadly passed away. His next of kin have been informed.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "At about 8am on Saturday (September 17) we received a report of a medical emergency inside Newcastle International Airport.

"Emergency services attended but sadly a man was later confirmed as deceased. His next of kin are aware.

"The man's death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be made for the coroner."

Newcastle International Airport and North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) have been contacted for a comment.
