A MAN has died and a woman was rushed to hospital following a blaze at a property in Glasgow.
Emergency crews were alerted to a fire on Greenview Street in the Southside on Wednesday, January 15 at around 6.35pm.
Police have since revealed a 69-year-old man sadly passed away following the fatal incident.
The force also said a woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Officers have now launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. However, it is not believed to be suspicious.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A 69-year-old man has died following a fire in Greenview Street in Shawlands, Glasgow.
“Emergency services were contacted around 6.35pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
“One woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the fire which is not believed to be suspicious.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
