A man has died after a collision between two vans in Nottinghamshire. Officers were called to Bawtry Road in Bircotes just after 9.45am on Thursday (March 9).
Nottinghamshire Police said a man who is aged in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene and his family has been informed. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area following the incident and the road was closed for most of the morning. Sergeant Steve Waft, of Nottinghamshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This is a tragic incident and we are currently working to understand what happened."
Anyone with information about the incident is now being urged to get in touch with police as investigations continue. Those with information should call 101, quoting incident number 149 of March 9.
