A man has died after taking unwell in an Edinburgh street. Emergency services rushed to Pilrig Street, near Leith walk, but were unable to save his life.
The incident took place on Friday, March 31, reports Edinburgh Live. Sadly, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland said today they are treating the death as "unexplained" although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
The street was cordoned off shortly before 9am on Friday as traffic could not pass the incident.
The age of the man or any further details have not been released by the police at this time, with a report to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 8.40am on Friday, March 31, to a report of a man unwell in the Pilrig Street area of Edinburgh.
"Emergency service attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
