A man in his 30s has died in a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Ballymun.
The crash occurred before 1am on Sunday morning on Poppintree Park Lane West. The pedestrian was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car did not require hospital treatment. The road remains closed as gardai investigate the scene.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Ballymun, Dublin on Sunday November 27, 2022. Shortly before 1am, Garda and Emergency Services were alerted to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at Poppintree Park Lane West, Ballymun.
"The pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s, was taken from the scene to the Mater Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car did not require hospital treatment.
"The scene is currently being examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
He added, "Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make it available to Gardaí."
