Man dies after being ‘seriously injured’ in charity boxing match

A man died after being “seriously injured” in a charity boxing match. The student had been participating in the charity event on Saturday, March 25, which was organised by Ultra White Collar Boxing at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Nottingham.

He was taking part in one of the opening bouts of the match, which was scheduled from 5.30pm until 10pm. But it was cut short when on-site paramedics had to attend to the boxer, who was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre where he died, NottinghamshireLive reports.

Detective Inspector Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers attended Harvey Hadden Sports Village on Saturday, March 25 with partners including East Midlands Ambulance Service. A man was left seriously injured following a boxing match and transported to Queen’s Medical Centre.
