A man died after being struck by a train at a Liverpool railway station.
Emergency services were called to Mossley Hill railway station at around 2.15pm on Sunday, May 7. A spokesperson for East Midlands Railways said yesterday there was disruption on the line due to a person being hit by a train.
British Transport Police today confirmed the incident involved a man. Officers and paramedics attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed by police. Detectives do not believe the incident is suspicious and a file will now be prepared for the coroner, police said.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "We were called to the line near Mossley Hill Station at 2.14pm yesterday to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Officers attended alongside paramedics, but sadly a man was declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The incident is not believed to be suspicious and a file will now be prepared for the coroner."
A number of train lines were blocked between Edge Hill and Warrington Central following the incident. Train services through these stations were cancelled.
