A man died in a horrific motorway crash after his car left the carriageway and ploughed into a tree.
An inquest was held today (Thursday) into the death of dad-of-two Lee Davis, 37, who was engaged to be married at the time of the tragedy on December 7, 2020.
The crash occurred on the M57 between Junction 4, near Kirkby, and Junction 3 for Stockbridge Village. The inquest found that Mr Davis, of All Hallows Drive, Speke, died on the southbound carriageway of the motorway after the white Vauxhall Corsa he was driving struck another vehicle and then hit a tree on the nearside embankment.

Mr Davis' cause of death was given as "severe blunt force head injuries."
Sefton and Knowsley assistant coroner Johanna Thompson concluded the cause of death as "road traffic collision."
Mr Davis' family released a heartbreaking tribute following his death in December 2020. The refuse collector was described as a "loving father" to two daughters aged just one and eight, and his death had left his fiancée heartbroken.
The family's statement added: "He was such a caring and hardworking man, sadly taken from his family too soon in a tragic accident, without opportunity to see his girls grow up.
"They will now have to rebuild their world without their daddy in it. Lee was deeply loved by all his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by everyone."
