Man demands divorce less than 24 hours into marriage as bride refused to have sex

A bride has left people astonished after her new husband demanded a divorce just one night after being married to each other.

According to the woman, she had slept with her then-husband before they got married - but declined on their wedding night, as she was too "tired" for any intimacy, reports the Mirror.

After this, the husband reacted in an odd way, and demanded a divorce when they woke up the morning after - not even 24 hours into the marriage. The pair ended up separating just two weeks later, and many have regarded this as a lucky escape for the woman.

The woman, Rachel, opened up about her ordeal on the Australian radio show Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, leaving many listeners horrified.

Rachel, who had phoned in following a request for stories about super short relationships, revealed: "I was married for not even 24 hours before my husband wanted a divorce, and we separated two weeks later."

When the hosts asked for more details, Rachel continued: "The night of the wedding, we went out, and when we got back to the hotel room, unfortunately, I didn't give him what he wanted."

She clarified they had slept together previously, but on their wedding night, she was just too tired and wasn't in the mood. Rachel added her husband's angry reaction had her feeling "miserable", and she ended up feeling like she "couldn't wait" to get away from him.

One of the hosts, Abbie, blasted the husband as a "revolting" and "awful, disgusting man", and noted it was actually common for people to not feel awake enough for any post-wedding antics. After a clip of the phone call was shared on social media, many fellow listeners shared their support for Rachel.

One person commented: "Absolutely dodged a bullet".

Another said: "Men like him deserve to stay single."

A third stated: "You don't owe sex to anyone not even your husband."

And another, reminiscing of their own wedding night, said: "My husband cried about how much he loved me then fell asleep while I removed 83 bobby pins from my hair."
