A man targeted vulnerable people by demanding cash for work he didn't do.
Merseyside Police said the man visited homes in the Hoghton Road/Sutton Junction, St Helens area claiming to have carried out work. He then requested cash to be paid.
However, officers said no work was carried out and no work was requested by people living in the area. Police said they arrested a man on Tuesday but are appealing for information.

Officers are appealing for CCTV and for anyone who had contact with the man.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Yesterday [Tuesday] a male was arrested after visiting houses of vulnerable persons, claiming to have carried out work and requesting cash be paid.
"No work had been carried out or requested. This was around the Hoghton Road/Sutton Junction area. Do you live in the area and have heard from this male? Do you have CCTV of this? If so please call us and quote Log 0567 of 24/04/2023."
