Four Louisiana men who call themselves the "Cutthroat Cowboys" are facing multiple charges after a viral video showed them riding horses through a Walmart, with one rider defending the stunt by calling his horse an "emotional support animal."

The bizarre incident unfolded on the night of April 2, at a Walmart in Baker, Louisiana, where the group of young men — including Mason Webb, 18, and a juvenile — decided to ride horses into the store, WBRZ reported.

The group frequently rides horses in the area and claimed the late-night stunt was not planned, but was done for fun and notoriety.

Following the incident, the Baker Police Department launched an investigation. Webb and the unnamed juvenile turned themselves in on April 4, while the remaining two riders — Brendon Bridgwater, 24, and Patrick Derozan, 22 — surrendered April 5, according to the New York Post.

Each was charged with disturbing the peace in a violent and tumultuous manner, entering and remaining after forbidden and unlawful posting of criminal activity for publicity. When asked why they did it, Webb told WBRZ, "We didn't wanna hurt nobody... We always ride to Baker, and we just wanted to do it that day. That's my emotional support animal."

Meanwhile, Walmart has not commented on whether the store suffered any damage or if the group will face a civil ban from entering the premises. Legal proceedings are expected to move forward in the coming weeks as the Baker Police Department pursues charges.
