Man dead, two injured after loaded coal train crashes into another locomotive west of Rockhampton

A 49-year-old man has died in a collision between a loaded coal train and another locomotive in central Queensland.

Police said both trains were travelling west when the crash happened about 11:30am at Westwood near Rockhampton.

Two other men were hurt.

A 43-year-old man suffered a broken leg and was flown to the Rockhampton Hospital.

A 41-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital by road.
