A man in his 40s has died following a fire at a house in Cork, Gardaí have confirmed.
Emergency Services arrived at around 3:15pm at a house in West Douglas Village. At the time of writing the time the blaze broke out and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
In a statement to the Irish Mirror, a Garda spokesperson explained: “Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal house fire that occurred at a property on Douglas Road West, Douglas, Cork, this afternoon, Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

“The road is currently closed with local diversions in place. No further information is available at this time.”
According to Cork Beo, a single male occupant was found deceased on the ground floor of the home.
