A man was found dead after police were called to reports of a car on fire in a woodland car park.
An investigation is continuing after the man's body was found in a car on fire. Emergency services were called to reports of a car fire at Stanney Woods car park on Strawberry Way West in Ellesmere Port at around 12.30am on Friday, June 3.
Firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire but the body of a man was found inside the car. An investigation was launched following the discovery in the early hours of Friday morning but as of yet the man has not been formally identified.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed to the ECHO a joint investigation was underway between the fire service and Cheshire Police. The death is currently being treated as "unexplained" while enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
Cheshire Police Detective Inspector Nigel Parr said: “At this stage this appears to be an isolated incident and we are doing everything we can to establish the exact circumstances of what has happened.
“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed what took place or saw anything suspicious or unusual in the area to get in touch. The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or video footage which may aid our investigation.”
