A young man is critical and another badly injured after a serious assault in Co Kildare in the early hours of this morning.
One man, aged in his 20s, was found unresponsive on Dublin Road, Monasterevin shortly after midnight after a row broke out outside a premises.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the unresponsive man was brought to Tallaght Hospital by ambulance.

A second man in his 50s was treated for facial injuries and brought to Portlaoise Hospital.
Officers are now attempting to piece together what happened and are looking for witnesses to come forward.
A garda spokesperson said: "The scene is preserved for forensic examination and no arrests have been made at this time. An incident room has been established at Kildare Garda Station.
"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward and for those with camera footage to make it available to them.
