Man convinced Boris Johnson will return as PM after 'spotting his face in chicken korma'

A carer was stunned after spotting the face of Boris Johnson staring back at him in a chicken korma he made - and believes its a 'premonition' that the former prime minister is set to return to Number 10. Jonathan Hoitinga, from Leatherhead, Surrey, was making a chicken korma ready meal specifically requested by his client - who asked that the rice was placed beside the curry rather than mixed in.

When the 40-year-old served the meal, he was forced to take a second look after noticing the politician's face. The dad-of-one found it hilarious that eight pieces of chicken had fallen to make the shapes of two eyes, a nose and a mouth, while the yellow rice resembled Boris' 'dishevelled' blonde hair.

Now Jonathan, who previously voted for the politician, believes the apparition could be a 'premonition' of his return to power - and admits that with the right people around him, Boris 'couldn't do any worse than Liz Truss ' currently is.

Jonathan said: "I was preparing dinner for one of my clients at their home.

"He said to me specifically he wanted the rice and curry kept separate. When I went to pick up the plate, I saw it.

"I said 'oh it looks like a face. It looks like Boris'. He found it funny. He said it looked like him then said 'well, I'm going to eat him now'.

"The chicken fell into place so it looked like a face. His hair is a bit dishevelled, it's part of the act. He doesn't have a sensible hair do, it's part of his thing."

Jonathan says although he voted for the former Conservative leader in the 2019 election, he wouldn't support him again if his appearance in the chicken curry is a sign of him making a comeback.

Jonathan said: "It could be a sign, you never know. You could say it's a premonition. I'm not a big fan but it wouldn't surprise me if he came back into politics with what's happening right now.

"I did like him and I did vote for him I'll be honest. Now I see how he's done, I wouldn't vote for him again.

"I've always found him entertaining, he has a laugh but you need someone more serious running the country.

"He's fine if he's got the right people around him. He couldn't do any worse than Liz [Truss]."

Since sharing the image on social media, others have also commented on the resemblance and the post has racked up more than 700,000 likes, shares and comments.

Jonathan said: "Some of the comments are very funny, there's loads of insults. Most of them are quite negative regarding Boris.

"He does have some natural charisma. You can do a lot with charisma. Everyone I know who has met him has said he's a really nice person."

One commentor wrote: "It would probably do a better job of running the country too."

Another said: "I don’t know why you put the curry next to the rice, you should have put it LYING on it.

Another wrote: "The representation of his hair isn't dishevelled enough but the face is spot on!"
