Man convicted of Ealing drugs murder after CCTV footage shatters self-defence 'lie'

A man has been convicted of murder after his claim of “self-defence” in an Ealing stabbing was disproven.

Sabin Manda, 32, was found guilty this week of murdering Bajram Luli, 27, during a dispute over drugs in Greenford, west London, on March 11.

Manda claimed he attacked Bajram in self-defence after fearing for his own life, according to the Metropolitan Police.

After the incident, he went ‘off the grid’, allegedly worried about possible retaliation.

Meanwhile, detectives secured CCTV footage capturing the attack which showed it was unprovoked.

Using various forensic techniques, police located and arrested Manda.

Manda was found guilty before Inner London Crown Court on Thursday.

He will be sentenced at the same court on October 11.

Detective inspector Adam Guttridge said: “The investigation team worked long and hard to locate footage of this incident that helped disprove Sabin Mandas’s claims of self-defence.

“This was an unprovoked attack and Manda will now face many years in prison to consider the consequences of his actions.

“I can only hope his conviction brings some comfort to Bajram’s family.”
