Man City XI vs Manchester United: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for derby today

Pep Guardiola has recalled several star players to his starting line-up as Manchester City take on Manchester United in today’s derby.

With John Stones absent, Manuel Akanji comes into the side to partner Nathan Ake, allowing Kyle Walker to return at right-back. Joao Cancelo has had a torrid time of late but is in the line-up.

Guardiola has, as expected, rung the changes after being knocked out of the Carbao Cup in what has been described as City's worst performance of his tenure.

Kalvin Phillips and Sergio Gomez also drop out, as the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri and Bernardo Silva come in.

Erling Haaland returns, supported by two of Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez, as he looks to add to the hat-trick he scored in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Manchester City XI: Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Ake, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Bernardo; Mahrez, Foden, Haaland.

Subs: Ortega, Phillips, Gundogan, Grealish, Laporte, Alvarez, Gomez, Palmer, Lewis.
