Man City XI vs Ipswich: Erling Haaland injury latest, confirmed team news and predicted lineup

Question mark: Erling Haaland could miss Manchester City’s meeting with Ipswich - (ES Composite)

Manchester City have slight concerns over Erling Haaland heading into Sunday’s Premier League trip to Ipswich.

Pep Guardiola’s previously crisis-stricken side had got back to winning ways up until Tuesday night, when the champions threw away a two-goal lead at Brentford to leave only with a 2-2 draw.

It remains to be seen if City really have turned a corner or if there is a deeper issue at play in regards to their poor form this season.

They may have to seek a result against struggling Ipswich without leading scorer Haaland - who has signed a mammoth new nine-and-a-half-year contract at the Etihad Stadium - as he was spotted going down on his haunches during the second half against the Bees.

Guardiola’s response to being asked if Haaland is fit on Friday was: “We will see, yesterday was a day off, now we are going to train, and we will see because some players finished [against Brentford] with some problems like every game. And we will see."

Both Ruben Dias and Oscar Bobb were spotted training ahead of Sunday’s clash at Portman Road, although expecting either to start given the nature of their injuries this season would perhaps be too much.

Rodri remains injured, while John Stones is a doubt. Kyle Walker is not expected to feature after asking to leave the club.

Predicted Man City XI: Ortega; Lewis, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol; Silva, Kovacic; Foden, De Bruyne, Savinho, Haaland

Doubts: Bobb, Dias, Stones, Haaland

Injured: Rodri

Time and date: 4:30pm GMT on Sunday January 19, 2025

Venue: Portman Road, Ipswich
