Man City XI vs Fulham: Haaland on bench - Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest, Premier League today

Erling Haaland is on the bench for Manchester City’s clash with Fulham today.

The striker, who has already scored 17 goals during a remarkable maiden Premier League campaign, has missed the last two games but is now likely to be in a position to feature in at least some capacity.

“He’s much better, so we’ll decide today,” said Guardiola. “We have training this afternoon and then we’ll see.

“It all depends on himself, his opinion and the doctors opinion. It could be 90 minutes or less.”

Guardiola was afforded the luxury of resting a number of players during the midweek comeback win over Sevilla and will also have defender Manuel Akanji available after the Swiss international confirmed his recent injury was nothing more than a dead leg,

Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Joao Cancelo, John Stones and Ederson all return to the starting lineup, along with Julian Alvarez.

Such has been Haaland’s impact, the Argentina international has to had bide his time for regular chances, although looks set to play on Saturday.

“He’s so young, at that age you can play every day!” added the City boss when speaking of Alvarez.

Starting Manchester City XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Akanji, Stones, Ake, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Grealish, Alvarez, Silva

Injured: Walker, Phillips
