Man City XI vs Everton: No De Bruyne - Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest

Pep Guardiola has made four changes to the Manchester City side for their trip to Everton, which is sandwiched between the two legs of their Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid.

City travel to Goodison Park bidding to open up a four-point lead over Arsenal, who host Brighton later on Sunday.

With their semi-final tie with Real finely poised at 1-1 going into the second leg on Wednesday, City has rotated on Merseyside.

Guardiola made no substitutions in the Bernabeu on Tuesday so Riyad Mahrez, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden are all fresh and come into the team.

Aymeric Laporte also comes in, while Erling Haaland starts up front.

Guardiola insisted in his pre-match press conference that he would not make changes for the sake of it.

“We will see,” he said. “We have five days, we’ll see.

“We’ll see the team today and tomorrow and then we’ll decide, there’s a lot of games too. There are players in the moment that are really important for us.”

Confirmed Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Laporte, Dias, Akanji, Gundogan, Rodri, Mahrez, Foden, Alvarez, Haaland

Subs: Ortega Moreno, Phillips, Gomez, Palmer, Lewis, Stones, Grealish, De Bruyne, Silva
