Manchester City to be 'very well placed' to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer, according to reports.
The Manchester Evening News understands that the Blues are cautious about their pursuit of the talented Norwegian amid reports around Europe suggesting personal terms have already been agreed between the two parties. Should the deal come off, it would see a season-long question around City's next striker signing emphatically answered with one of the hottest prospects on the market.
And reports in Spain say City are in pole position to beat the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, Barcelona and Manchester United to the forward's signature. Haaland has become a feared attacker across Europe following his goalscoring exploits in Austria, with Salzburg, and more recently in the Bundesliga.

Marca claim that the Blues are 'very well placed' to sign him as they look to find a long-term successor to all-time Premier League goalscorer Sergio Aguero, who left last summer. There was a hot pursuit of Harry Kane last summer but Pep Guardiola's side were priced out by Spurs and their owner Daniel Levy.
Haaland returned to action on Sunday against Arminia Bielefeld, following a spell on the sidelines with injury. He will be looking to charge down golden boot rival Robert Lewandowski who has pulled away in the race with 29 goals this season. The Dortmund man has 16 goals in 15 appearances.
Meanwhile, City defender John Stones is said to be on the radar of Newcastle as they look to continue splashing their newfound riches. Newcastle added Dan Burn from Brighton in January but the latest reports suggest they're looking to add to their defensive ranks.
GiveMeSport reports that the Magpies are 'hopeful' of signing the England international. Stones, who will be touching 29 by the end of next season, has enjoyed a spell back in Guardiola's squad in recent weeks after injuries to Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake.
