Manchester City vs Young Boys LIVE!
Man City are celebrating advancing through to the last 16 of the Champions League with two matches to spare. The holders were in typically dominant mood on Wednesday night to brush aside overmatched Swiss champions Young Boys BSC and set a new English record for the longest unbeaten run in Europe's elite club competition.
It is the 11th consecutive season in which City have reached the knockout stages of the Champions League, with a fourth win in as many matches keeping them flying high at the Group G summit with return games against RB Leipzig and Red Star Belgrade still to come. Erling Haaland was deemed fit enough to start after an ankle knock with the visit of Chelsea looming large in the Premier League on Sunday and opened the scoring against Young Boys from the penalty spot after Matheus Nunes had been fouled.
Phil Foden doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time with an excellent goal after being teed up by Jack Grealish, with Haaland then getting his second after the break with a thunderous 20-yard strike before the visitors had Sandro Lauper sent off for a second bookable offence.
