Southampton held Manchester City to two draws last season but they will be fearing the worst when they return to the Etihad on Saturday, and with good reason.
The world's most in-form striker will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing a defence that hasn't kept a clean sheet this season. Saints have lost four of their last five Premier League matches and if the rumours are true, they are about to part ways with manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, but they won't get any sympathy from a City side in stunning form and a striker who is proving almost unstoppable.
Erling Haaland has already banged in 20 goals for City, 14 of which have come in the Premier League. The Norwegian has only failed to find the net once in City's last 11 matches and he would surely have hit hat-trick number four for the Citizens had he not been taken off at half-time against Copenhagen in midweek.
City would have been very short for this game anyway but the form of Haaland has pushed their price down further and they are a hugely restrictive 1/9 with Betway to do the job on Saturday. Saints would be 20/1 stunners should they cause a shock.
It hasn't taken the bookmakers long to effectively pull up the shutters when it comes to pricing up Haaland goals in a game. The 22-year-old is as short as 1/4 to score at any time against the Saints and just 15/4 to score a hat-trick, which is obscenely prohibitive and even tighter than peak Messi and Ronaldo levels in La Liga.
But it's difficult to see him not scoring against a Southampton side devoid of confidence after a run of bad results. Their three recent defeats have all come against sides in the bottom three and they are one of the few sides to concede to Wolves this term.
They were probably deserving of at least a point against Everton last time having racked up an xGF of 2.3 (by some distance their best of the season) but goals are a problem for a side who have failed to score in three of their last five matches and have not managed to generate an xGF greater than 1.0 in any away game this season.

City are rampant at the moment and that theme looks set to continue against a Southampton side really struggling to get going this term.
A heavy City win, without conceding, looks by far the most likely outcome so it's probably worth splitting the 4-0 and 5-0 scorelines, which are 7/1 and 10/1 chances respectively.
