Manchester City and Manchester United will make history today in the first ever professional derby between the two clubs in the Barclays FA Women's Super League.
United coach Casey Stoney named six debutants for her side's FA WSL bow at the Etihad Stadium.
Summer signings Mary Earps, Abbie McManus, Jackie Groenen, Lotta Okvist, Jane Ross and Hayley Ladd went straight into the United line-up, while City gave a first start to Aoife Mannion.
Early signs were that the attendance would easily beat the current WSL record of 5,265 who saw Arsenal win the title at Brighton last season - although Chelsea's clash with Tottenham on Sunday is expected to raise the bar further.
City captain Steph Houghton says it is important "we start history right", with the England star telling reporters in the run-up to the match: "It's exciting.
"I think everybody has been dying for a Manchester derby in the Women's Super League.
"Obviously last year when Manchester United said they were going to be in the Championship and they were fighting for promotion, as players and staff we got excited by the prospect of having them in our league, and now to have it as our first game - I think it is going to do this game the world of good.
"I think we need to push rivalries, we need to push derby days and there is no bigger than this one coming on Saturday.
"Hopefully we can put on a performance to help fans come back to watch us even more."
