Manchester City's January transfer window didn't technically go by without the club making a signing.
It has been confirmed that a deal has been struck with River Plate to bring in Julian Alvarez, although the young forward will return to Argentina until City start the 2022-23 campaign.
Ferran Torres' departure does leave City looking a little light on numbers - although not short on quality - in attacking areas, but speculation seems to indicate that the club will look to resolve that in the summer.
Mirror Sport has all of your latest City transfer buzz on deadline day, including links to two of Europe's brightest young prospects and talk of a possible player sale.

Haaland concern
According to AS (h/t Sport Witness ), Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland may reject an approach from Manchester City as he would prefer to move to Spain.
The Premier League champions have been strongly linked with the Norway international in recent months, although they are expected to face serious competition for his signature from the biggest clubs on the continent.
Barcelona and Real Madrid have both been mentioned as potential suitors and it's suggested the striker and his family would be more open to a move to Spain. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with an interest.
According to the story, worryingly for City the relationship between the Madrid giants and Dortmund is said to be "excellent" too.
Sterling up for sale?
According to the Daily Star, City will consider approaches for Raheem Sterling in the summer if they have not yet agreed fresh terms.
The 27-year-old's contract is set to run out at the end of next season and he has spoken candidly as of late about potentially leaving the club.
Sterling has forced his way back into regular contention under Pep Guardiola in recent weeks, offering a reminder as to how effective he can be when at his best. However, as of yet no contract extension has been agreed at the Etihad Stadium.
As a result, City may view the summer as the last chance to get a decent fee for the forward and with the contract talks said to be "on ice" Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are all reported to be keeping tabs on how the situation progresses.
Gravenberch put on City's list
According to Soccernews (h/t Sport Witness ), Ajax midfield prodigy Ryan Gravenberch has been added to City's list of transfer options.
The 19-year-old is the latest starlet to have their talents crafted in the Ajax academy and despite his tender years he has already established himself as a regular for the Amsterdam giants.
Gravenberch is reported to have attracted interest from across Europe in the summer, but opted to stay with Ajax for this season to ensure his development continues.
With his technical quality and physicality, it's easy to see why he'd be a target for Guardiola and an ideal fit for English football.
