Manchester City are focused on landing Marc Cucurella from Brighton and are considering their next move after having a £30million bid rejected.
Pep Guardiola wants to sign left-back Cucurella after selling Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal for £32million. The Blues are also being linked with a top La Liga defender and a rising star in the EFL.
Mirror Sport has the latest transfer news, including updates on Cucurella.
City favourites to sign top La Liga defender
Sports Illustrated claim Manchester City are favourites to sign Spain and Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
Torres has been linked with Barcelona and Juventus in recent weeks, but now Villarreal-based journalist Xavi Jorquera Marquez claims City are in pole position. Marquez claims City have made contract with Villarreal over the centre-half and will swoop for him this summer.
The Blues had been linked with various centre-halves when it looked like Chelsea might sign Nathan Ake before the Stamford Bridge club ended their interest in the Dutchman.
City target disappointed with club's asking price for him
Caught Offside carry a report claiming that Marc Cucurella is disappointed with Brighton for slapping a £50million price tag on his head.
Manchester City have offered £30million to sign Cucurella and Brighton have responded by saying they will pay £30million more. Cucurella, who cost the Seagulls £15million from Getafe a year ago, fears he may be priced out of a dream move to the champions.
The Spanish left-back has ruled out joining Chelsea or any other Premier League club because he is focused on securing a switch to the Etihad.
City go head-to-head with Tottenham over teenage EFL star
HITC claim Manchester City have registered their interest in Tottenham target and Peterborough defender Ronnie Edwards.
Edwards, 19, is one of the hottest prospects in the EFL and Peterborough value him at £15million.
Posh director of football, Barry Fry, claims City have made contact with them, but insists Edwards knows his best option is to continue playing first-team football with them.
Fry said: "City did make a phone call about him, but it was just a conversation. There has been interest all summer long in Ronnie. But he would rather play in League One than in City's, or any other club's Under 21-side."
