Man City transfer news: Ake replacement will cost £65m and Blues to sign Everton talent

Manchester City remain busy in the transfer market despite splashing out nearly £100million on Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips.

They are targeting Brighton's Spanish full-back Marc Cucurella and will want another centre-half before they let Nathan Ake join Chelsea for £45million. City will not stand in Ake's way and the Dutchman is open to returning to Chelsea because he has been unable to nail down a regular starting place at the Etihad.

Chelsea-bound Raheem Sterling has also joined Gabriel Jesus in heading to the capital and Pep Guardiola only wants players who are fully committed to the cause. Mirror Sport has the latest City transfer news, including updates on their defender search.

City must pay £65million for Ake replacement

Vital Football claim Manchester City will have to fork out £65million if they want Sevilla's Jules Kounde to replace Nathan Ake.

City will only sanction Ake's £45million move to Chelsea if they can sign another centre-half and reports in Spain claim they are targeting Kounde.

The French international, who has also been linked with Chelsea, is highly prized by Sevilla and he kept 15 clean sheets in 32 La Liga games last season.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims Sevilla would want £65million for Kounde, which may rule out a move by City when they already have Ruben Dias, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte battling for the two centre-half spots.

City have also been linked with RB Leipzig's Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol.

City favourites to sign teen talent from Everton

Caught Offside carry a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, claiming City are leading the race to sign Scottish striker Emilio Lawrence from Everton.

Lawrence, 16, is leaving Everton this summer after playing for their Under-23s and Under-18s last season, sparking a chase for his signature.

A number of big clubs are looking at Lawrence and Romano says City are in pole position to land him.

The Blues are continually looking for the best players at every age group in the hope they can unearth another gem like Phil Foden.

Sunderland taunted over missing out on young City ace

Coventry Live claim Coventry fans have been taunting Sunderland supporters after beating them to sign City youngster Callum Doyle on loan.

Doyle, 18, enjoyed a successful loan spell with Sunderland last season and helped them win promotion to the Championship.

The Black Cats wanted him back this season, but he has opted to sign for Coventry.

He will make his Sky Blues debut against Sunderland and one fan welcomed him on twitter, saying "you've moved onto the next level".
