Man City to face Oxford or Arsenal in FA Cup fourth round if they beat Chelsea

Manchester City will face Oxford or Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the Etihad Stadium if they defeat Chelsea in the third round on Sunday evening.

City, who last won the competition in 2019, defeating Watford 6-0 in the final, can seal their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a win over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's men secured a 1-0 victory over the London club in the Premier League on Thursday night, with Riyad Mahrez combining with fellow substitute Jack Grealish to score the only goal of the game

Speaking ahead of City's FA Cup clash with Graham Potter's side, Guardiola said: "It’s better for us to face Chelsea at home with our fans after a victory - that’s much better definitely.

"It could be a very different game, maybe Graham changes the shape, I don’t know. I know they struggled with injuries with two or three important players. Jorginho wasn’t there, Mason Mount wasn’t there, I don’t know the reason why.

"We were able to win four Carabao Cups in a row because every competition is important. Of course [the FA Cup] is important but now it’s rest, recovery and prepare with the fresh legs for this game."

City's potential tie against Oxford or Arsenal will be on the weekend of Saturday, January 28, 2023. TV and broadcasting schedules will have an impact on the exact date.
