Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni claims Manchester City star Sergio Aguero has been carrying an injury that has prevented him from ‘training 100 percent’ with his club.

Aguero was not included in the Argentina squad for games against Germany and Ecuador with Scaloni planning to recall the striker to his squad for November’s round of internationals.

The 30-year-old has been in superb form this season, scoring eight goals in eight matches, completing the full 90 minutes in City’s last match before the international break against Wolves.

Aguero and Lionel Messi have remained with their clubs during the international break, with Scaloni telling a press conference: “Messi is not here due to suspension, Sergio Aguero is not here because he has been carrying a problem and has not been training 100 percent with his club.

“Surely both will be here next month.”

City return to Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to south east London to take on Crystal Palace.

Palace could move above City with a shock win.
