Man City star rates Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham transfers and makes Premier League prediction

Manchester City star Rodri has rated the transfer business completed by Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham this summer.

The Gunners have signed five new players so far in the transfer window with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko swapping the Etihad Stadium for the Emirates Stadium, joined by Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos. Chelsea have also poached City's squad by securing a deal for Raheem Sterling as Todd Boehly's first signing, despite failing to lure Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham have completed the most incoming transfers with Richarlison, Djed Spence, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Clement Lenglet and Fraser Forster all making the move to N17 as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. City became Premier League champions for the fourth time in five seasons last term after pipping Liverpool to the title on the final day, but Rodri is wary that other clubs are closing the gap.

Rodri featured in City's FA Community Shield defeat against Liverpool at the weekend and is aware of the competition facing Pep Guardiola's side ahead of the new Premier League season. Speaking ahead of the 3-1 loss, the Spaniard told the matchday programme: “You cannot make one mistake when you are fighting for titles. It will be the same next season, I am sure.

"Not just Liverpool, but Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, [Manchester] United. We just have to focus on ourselves as always, focus on each game and we will see if we can make it three Premier League titles in a row," the 26-year-old added.

"Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and many other teams have signed top players this summer. As we always say, we will always just focus on ourselves and try to be the best we can be," Rodri added when discussing rival clubs' summer transfer business.

football.london understands Chelsea are prioritising signing a new defender and are in advanced talks with Brighton to sign City target Marc Cucurella. football.london also understands Arsenal and Spurs are looking to sign one or two more players before the transfer deadline on Thursday, September 1.
