It still feels like the dust has barely settled following England's historic European Championship triumph back in July, but on Friday evening the Lionesses were back at Wembley creating more history.
Just over two months on from defeating Germany in the final of Euro 2022, Sarina Wiegman's England took on the United States in a friendly. The highest-ranked women's international side in the world and reigning world champions have long been something of a bogey team for England, but at a packed-out Wembley England finally got their own way.
First-half goals from Manchester City attacker Lauren Hemp and former City midfielder Georgia Stanway - either side of a Sophia Smith equaliser - were enough to give England the win, a first against their cross-Atlantic foes since 2017 and one that took their unbeaten run to 23-games.

It was not a surprise to see Hemp score the game's opening goal, but the way she did so was somewhat unexpected. An injury picked up by Manchester United striker Alessia Russo earlier in the week resulted in Hemp - a winger by trade for both club and country - playing as the lone striker at the tip of England's 4-2-3-1 set-up.
She played the unfamiliar role admirably, showing the instincts of a seasoned striker when she gambled on a Lucy Bronze cross, despite the fact it was clear she was not going to reach the ball first. The defender botched her clearance and Hemp nipped in to slot the ball home on nine minutes, offering England some relief after the US pressure had begun to build.
There were more current and former City connections to be had soon after. 18 minutes later Smith fired low past Manchester United goalkeeper Mary Earps to level the score after Stanway had been robbed of possession 25 yards from her own goal. In fairness, Stanway was not entirely to blame - centre-back Millie Bright would not have opted to pass to her midfielder had she read the press properly - but five minutes later Stanway found redemption.
After the VAR advised the referee to consult the pitchside monitor after former City right-back Bronze took a high boot to the face, a spot-kick was awarded and Stanway coolly converted.
The second half was a bit less hectic and a bit less end-to-end, but nevertheless filled with the same quality as the first. City attacker and national hero Chloe Kelly was energetic and dangerous as ever on the left-flank, linking up well with second-half substitute Ella Toone.
As she did in every game at the Euros the United attacker started on the bench, but just as over the summer her directness and quality showed just why her club fans love her so much.
Keira Walsh became the most expensive player in the history of the women's game when she joined Barcelona from City over the summer, and at the heart of the Wembley pitch she showed exactly why. Any young midfielder wondering how to escape pressure and dictate play could do no better than watch Walsh's tapes on repeat.
England's defence was largely solid barring a few early moments of miscommunication, but perhaps that was to be expected given that City centre-back Alex Greenwood has not started many England games this year, thanks to the form of Leah Williamson. It shouldn't be forgotten that England were up against the best pressing side in the world; playing out from the back was never going to be easy.
On the whole, it was another thoroughly professional, composed and exciting performance from England, with no signs of the post-tournament hangover that competition winners often suffer from.
