Arsenal need to strengthen in the forward positions, and Raheem Sterling should certainly be considered as an option in the summer.
The Gunners desperately need to make additions in the January transfer window, but that is now looking unlikely with deadline day fast approaching.
Sterling has been tipped to leave Man City as he is still yet to sign a new contract for Pep Guardiola’s team, and Arsenal have been repeatedly linked with the winger, and it is well known that Arsene Wenger had been a long-time admirer of the player.
According to TransferMarketWeb , the 26-year-old would prefer to join Mikel Arteta's side over Barcelona, another club whom he has been linked with.
Signing a striker in January or the summer transfer window is a necessity for the Gunners who are extremely short in the attacking positions, and need more quality to solidify a place in the UEFA Champions League for the upcoming seasons.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein , Barcelona and Juventus have made official approaches to sign Pierre-Emerick Auameyang on loan until the summer, with Arsenal still pondering on whether to accept the deal.
Aubameyang is not set to be the only striker departure, however, as according to the Telegraph, talks between Newcastle and Nketiah are progressing quickly, with the Gunners striker likely to complete a January move.
Arsenal failed in their attempts to sign Dusan Vlahovic in the January window, as the Serbian striker instead opted to join Serie A side Juventus.
With so little time remaining in the winter window, Edu could be focusing on the attackers he wants to bring in ahead of next season, and Sterling should certainly be involved in that conversation.

Despite not being considered as a player that would fit into Edu’s new transfer approach of signing players 23-years-old or younger, he would still be an excellent addition to the squad.
It also helps that Arteta used to coach Sterling during his time at the Citizens before he joined Arsenal as head coach, so the Englishman will have a slight idea about the way the Spaniard likes his team to set up and what he expects out of his players.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in October of last year, this could be Arteta’s thinking.
“For Sterling, it is about the contract. Man City have been clear with him – extend the contract, or we will try to sell you in January or next summer,” Romano told The Arsenal Lounge .
“It’s true, Arsenal would love to have him. Mikel Arteta is in love, he is convinced he would be perfect. Man City want more than £50 million.”
The 26-year-old has scored more than 100 goals during his six-year career at Man City, whilst playing an important role in their most recent Premier League title success, so he would prove to be an excellent signing for the Gunners.
