Manchester City are reportedly ready to 'resume talks' with Raheem Sterling amid interest from La Liga giants Barcelona.
Sources are said to have told ESPN that City are keen to resolve the issues regarding his contract before the start of the new season.
The Manchester Evening News understands that Sterling's future at the Etihad Stadium is currently unclear and that the England international will not be rushed into a decision over his future.
In the past, Sterling has commented on his desire to play abroad but a new contract with Pep Guardiola's side should not be ruled out.
Elsewhere, former Manchester City man Douglas Luiz is believed to be happy at Aston Villa and is keen on signing a new contract with the West Midlands club.
90min reports that City had been weighing up the possibility of re-signing the midfielder due to his performances while at Steven Gerrard's side.
But it is reported that Luiz would not be interested in a move back to the Etihad nor would he want to join Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.
Luiz's agents are said to have told Villa's hierarchy that they are willing to enter new long-term contract discussions.
The Brazilian has so far made 18 appearances for Villa this season.
