Man City's timeframe for Kalvin Philips Leeds transfer plus Gabriel Jesus latest

Manchester City have already landed Norway striker Erling Haaland for £51million in what could be a busy summer of ins and outs at the Etihad.

City boss Pep Guardiola also wants a midfielder to replace the departing Fernandinho, with Kalvin Phillips top of City's hitlist of targets. There could also be departures and Gabriel Jesus is open to leaving following Haaland's signing and the Brazil striker is attracting interest from inside the Premier League and from abroad.

Raheem Sterling is also a wanted man and the England star has just one year left on his City contract. Mirror Sport rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours news.

Gunners bid for Jesus

Arsenal have reportedly made an opening offer of 50million euros for Jesus. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is determined to land a top striker to spearhead his new-look attack and wants Jesus, who is open to leaving the Etihad this summer.

However the Gunners' opening bid is said to be 10million euros below City's valuation for Jesus, who has one year left on his Blues deal.

Jesus is put off Arsenal because they cannot offer him Champions League football and this has alerted Real Madrid. Goal Brasil claim that in addition to Arsenal's bid, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen on Jesus, but that Gunners remain the frontrunners to sign the South American.

City set Phillips timeframe

City will make their opening move for Leeds midfielder Phillips after England's final Nations League game according to ESPN.

City want Phillips to replace the departing Fernandinho and will make their first approach after England's final Nations League game at home to Hungary on Tuesday. Phillips may not feature against Hungary and he is receiving treatment with England after coming off against Germany with what has been described as a "severe dead leg".

Phillips has always said he is happy at his hometown club and Leeds want to re-open contract talks to tie him down to Elland Road long term.

Palmer preferred to Saka

City have been linked with a move for Bukayo Saka with the future of Arsenal's England winger increasingly unclear. However the Manchester Evening News claim Saka is not on their transfer hitlist.

City feel they do not need Saka and are keen not to block Cole Palmer's route to the first team. The Blues have big hopes for Palmer and the 20-year-old scored his first Champions League goal and made his Premier League full debut last season.

They want him to be part of Pep Guardiola's first-team squad next season and feel signing someone like Saka could impede his progress.
