Man City’s remaining Premier League fixtures compared to title rivals Arsenal

Manchester City took a giant leap towards retaining their Premier League crown with an emphatic 4-1 win over title rivals Arsenal on Wednesday.

A double from Kevin De Bruyne, a header from John Stones and Erling Haaland's 49th goal of the season saw the Blues to a seventh straight league win. The gap to the Gunners is now just two points and City have two games in hand.

City are still on for the treble, also being in the Champions League semi-finals and FA Cup final. They are looking to lift the Premier League title for the third time in as many seasons.

Arsenal only have five fixtures remaining this season while City potentially have 11 more, should they make it past Real Madrid and into the Champions League final.

Both clubs face Chelsea and Brighton in the Premier League run-in, although the Gunners are considered to have the harder sequence. Take a look at both teams’ remaining league fixture lists below.

Manchester City - 2nd (73 pts)

  • Fulham (A)
  • West Ham (H)
  • Leeds (H)
  • Everton (A)
  • Chelsea (H)
  • Brighton (A)
  • Brentford (A)

The verdict: City will fancy their chances in every game during their run-in, with Brighton away from home potentially being a banana skin based on this season's form.

The Blues won all of their 14 final games during the 2018/19 title-winning campaign and have the chance to replicate that this season.

Leeds and Everton look like certain wins on paper but will be fighting for their Premier League survival so will put up a tough showing. That said, barring Brentford, City have not lost to any of their remaining opponents this campaign.

Arsenal - 1st (75 pts)

  • Chelsea (H)
  • Newcastle (A)
  • Brighton (H)
  • Nottingham Forest (A)
  • Wolves (H)

The verdict: It could be argued that none of Arsenal’s remaining fixtures are easy. The home clash with London rivals Chelsea and the away trip to Newcastle stick out.

Brighton will be a tricky test even if the Gunners are on home soil while Nottingham Forest will be battling tooth-and-nail to stay in the Premier League. It could all be over by the time Wolves visit the Emirates.
