Manchester City’s dramatic Premier League title triumph has been immortalised in Lego!
Pep Guardiola's squad put all the pieces together to clinch the trophy in dramatic style by coming from 2-0 to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in thrilling scenes on Sunday evening.
Now LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester have commemorated City's latest achievement, using 3,126 bricks to build a model Etihad, along with miniature figure fans in club colours and the Premier League trophy itself.
The Lego scene is a reminder of a stunning final day for City, even if the toy figures won't experience the nerve-wracking highs and lows real supporters went through.
After 75 minutes it seemed as if the title challenge would collapse at the feet of Steve Gerrard as Villa shocked the Etihad to take a 2-0 lead when Philippe Coutinho added to Matty Cash's opening goal.
However, three goals in five minutes from Ilkay Gundogan (2) and Rodri sent the Etihad (and those mini figures) into raptures as City roared back to pip Liverpool in an enthralling end to the season.
Jenn McDonough, General Manager at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, said: “We are all extremely proud of Manchester City’s achievements this season. The team deserve to be celebrated for the second year running, so we’re happy to be playing a part in honouring their success!
“Our MINILAND is home to some of the best sights Manchester has to offer recreated in brick form, so we’re extremely excited to add the Premier League trophy to the attraction, alongside a celebratory party outside the stadium. We look forward to welcoming guests into the attraction to continue the Man City celebrations with us.”
Tickets for this attraction are on sale here.
