Man City's next six Premier League fixtures compared with title rivals Arsenal

It's now a two-horse race as Manchester City and Arsenal aim to win this season's Premier League.

Manchester United's title hopes were slim even before a heavy loss to Liverpool and a draw with Southampton. As things stand, Arsenal sit five points clear of City thanks to their victory at Fulham on Sunday.

The Blues had closed the gap to two points a day prior after a hard-fought win at Crystal Palace. City will not play another Premier League match until April thanks to their involvement in the FA Cup and the international break while the Gunners still have one match remaining in the league before their players join up with their national teams.

With the title race now hotting up, MEN Sport has taken a look at both City's and Arsenal's next six Premier League matches.

Man City's next six Premier League fixtures

Liverpool (H) - Saturday, April 1

Southampton (A) - Sunday, April 9

Leicester City (H) - Sunday, April 16

Brighton and Hove Albion (A) - Sunday, April 23

Arsenal (H) - Wednesday, April 26

Fulham (A) - Sunday, April 30

As a run of fixtures goes, that is perhaps not as favourable as Pep Guardiola would have liked. Nobody is quite sure which Liverpool you are going to get from one week to the next but if it is the one that beat United 7-0, the Blues face a tricky task.

You would expect City to beat Southampton and Leicester who are both struggling at the wrong end of the table but the real test comes at the end of the six-game spell. Roberto De Zerbi's side have proven to be impressive this campaign while Fulham have also enjoyed a good return to the top flight.

However, it is that match against Arsenal that could make or break City's title challenge. A win at the Etihad and cracks could show in Mikel Arteta's team.

Arsenal's next six Premier League fixtures

Crystal Palace (H) - Sunday, March 19

Leeds United (H) - Saturday, April 1

Liverpool (A) - Sunday, April 9

West Ham United (A) - Sunday, April 16

Southampton (H) - Friday, April 21

Manchester City (A) - Wednesday, April 26

On paper, Arsenal look to have the better set of fixtures to come. It will be interesting to see if they can take advantage of City's FA Cup participation on Sunday when they host Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium, with a win taking them eight points clear.

Leeds, West Ham and Southampton are all matches that Arteta will expect his team to win with ease considering their respective struggles this season. Liverpool is a lottery but you would expect Jurgen Klopp's men to be up for it at Anfield.

That just leaves that clash with City. The extra two days' rest the Gunners will get could be a difference maker with Arsenal knowing a win could seal the title.
