Man City release Phil Foden statement ahead of Liverpool
Manchester City have been dealt another injury blow ahead of the clash with Liverpool next weekend.
The Reds take on Man City in their first Premier League fixture after the international break. Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to the Etihad Stadium next Saturday in the lunchtime kick-off.
Liverpool are currently battling to achieve a top four finish, but are seven points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. But the Reds do have two games in hand on the London club.
Ahead of the big match, Liverpool’s opponents appear to be sweating on the fitness of some of their key players.
Foden underwent surgery on Sunday, and will now miss Man City’s clash against Liverpool. He joins Erling Haaland, who has also suffered a fitness blow over the international break.
The striker was withdrawn from the Norway squad at the start of the week, which has cast doubt over his fitness for the clash against Liverpool. Man City will likely assess the injury of Haaland in the week leading up to Saturday’s match.
