Man City 'reignite interest' in Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz and more transfer rumours

Manchester City have reportedly reignited their interest in Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to 90min, the Blues have monitored the 19-year-old for a while, and Pep Guardiola's side could be interested in a move for the midfielder in the summer. It adds that Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle have also watched the player, while Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also in the running.

Wirtz has impressive for the Bundesliga outfit and is widely regarded as one of European football's brightest prospects. He was recalled to the Germany squad for the upcoming EURO 2024 qualifiers after recovering from a serious knee injury which kept him out for nine months and deprived him of a place at the World Cup in Qatar.

The 19-year-old, who has registered two goals and six assists in 13 games this season, is under contract with Leverkusen until 2027. Therefore, 90min claim that the German side do not plan to lose Wirtz this summer. However, their stance could change if they receive a sizeable offer for the player.

Elsewhere, Marca have reported that Real Madrid believe Jude Bellingham will make the move to Spain at the end of the season, even though Los Blancos are unlikely to match the financial offers from any interested Premier League clubs.

It comes after reports claiming that Guardiola has made the Borussia Dortmund midfielder his top priority for the summer, with the futures of Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva still unclear. Meanwhile, Liverpool have held a long-standing interest in the England international, but it remains to be seen if they will have the finances for a transfer of that magnitude.

Dortmund are expected to demand at least €100million for the 19-year-old, with Madrid reportedly prepared to offer Bellingham a contract worth €10million per year. However, it is also claimed that they will are not willing to pay over the odds for the English midfielder.
