Man City playmaker Jack Grealish reportedly set for seven-figure Gucci endorsement deal

Manchester City talent Jack Grealish is set to pen a major endorsement deal worth 'seven figures' with fashion giant Gucci, according to reports.

The 26-year-old became the poster boy of Euro 2020 for England as he helped the Three Lions reach the final. He was then snapped up by Pep Guardiola, who paid Aston Villa £100m - a British record sum - for his services.

He is still on course for a career maiden Premier League title, Champions League crown and FA Cup triumph. Grealish will also be hoping for global glory when England travel to Qatar for this winter's 2022 World Cup.

Now, according to the Athletic, the Birmingham-born playmaker is in line for seven-figure contract with Gucci. This would be seen as an interesting move from the high-end luxury brand, which normally targets actors and musicians for endorsement deals.

Many Premier League players, such as Manchester United 's Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, have been seen wearing Gucci apparel in the past, as has Grealish. But none have had contracts with the Italian fashion outlet.

The Sun claims Grealish already rakes in around £12m a year - or roughly £230,000 a week - under his current Manchester City deal. He also has sponsorship contracts with Nike among other companies.

Although by no means a central reason, the attack-minded player was brought in with the knowledge of the potential commercial opportunities his name carried. Grealish has scored four goals in 30 games across all competitions this season.

He will be hoping to line-up against Atletico Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final first leg meeting on Tuesday evening. Grealish has also netted once in eight England games this term.
