Man City player ratings vs Fulham as Bernardo good after Cancelo red

Ederson: Saving penalties is not his forte and he did everything else required of him. 7

Stones: City's best defender, going wide on the right or coming inside as required. 7

Akanji: Missed two decent chances to head City back into the lead, but did stay aggressive throughout. 6

Ake: Poor to expose Cancelo for the penalty and gave the ball away a few times in bad areas. Positive at left-back. 5

Cancelo: He'd argue it was a shoulder barge but it looked an obvious penalty and the red card was inevitable. 4

Rodri: Some excellent interceptions when City were leading and then slotted seamlessly in to help the defence after the red card. 7

Gundogan: Terrific assist for Alvarez, although struggled to keep City in control in the second half. 7

De Bruyne: Started brightly and denied an assist by the offside flag before winning the crucial penalty. 8

Bernardo: The beating heart of the team, covering so much ground to compensate for being a man down. 8

Grealish: A few nice runs and some shots that threatened the goal, but couldn't complain about being taken off. 6

Alvarez: Took his goal very well and continued to provide a threat even when service was heavily reduced. 7

Substitutes

Haaland (for Alvarez, 64): Missed a few that would have gone in on another day but scored when it mattered. 7

Foden (for Grealish, 64) Added some urgency to the left flank but struggled to be incisive. 6

Not used: Ortega, Laporte, Gomez, Lewis, Palmer, Mahrez
